The Southwell u3a concert trips scheme runs regular coaches from Southwell to the Nottingham Classics concert programme at the Royal Concert Hall in central Nottingham. Tickets are discounted significantly because we comprise a group and there is then a small charge added into the integrated ticket/coach price to cover the cost of coach hire.
The organiser, Roger Bennett, pre-reserves blocks of seats in the concert hall each season for all concerts to cover all popular areas and prices and to reserve special seats for “regular” concertgoers.
The coach normally leaves outside the Nottingham Road entrance to the Minster School near the Leisure Centre at 6:10pm and picks up further passengers in Thurgarton, Lowdham & Burton Joyce before arriving at the front of the Royal Centre at around 7:00pm in plenty of time for a 7:30pm concert programme. You are picked up at the end of the concert within a few hundred yards of the main entrance.
(Please note that the concert on 29 October has an early start at 7pm, pick-up times will be adjusted to reflect this.)
