Computer Help Group

Join our still relatively new Computer Help Group – Support, Skills, and Social Fun!

Are you feeling a little unsure when it comes to using your computer or smartphone? Maybe you would like to build your confidence with email, online shopping, digital photos, or staying safe online? The Southwell u3a Computer Help Group is here to help – and we would love for you to join us!

Focusing mainly on Windows and dipping our toes into smartphones we are here to help make the digital world the real world.

We are a friendly, informal group made up of members just like you – people who want to learn more about using technology, at their own pace, in a relaxed and supportive environment. Whether you are a complete beginner or just need help with specific tasks, you are very welcome.

We cover all kinds of everyday digital topics:

  • Using Zoom or WhatsApp to stay in touch
  • Choosing a new computer
  • Upgrading to Windows 11
  • Sending and receiving emails
  • Staying safe online
  • Navigating websites or online forms
  • Organising and sharing your photos

There is no pressure, no jargon, and no such thing as a silly question. Sessions are guided by experienced members who are happy to explain things clearly and help one-on-one where needed. As well as learning useful skills, the group is a great opportunity to meet other members, share tips, and enjoy a good chat over a cup of tea.

Why not give it a try? Whether you want to troubleshoot a particular problem or simply grow your confidence with technology, the Computer Help Group is a great place to start. Come along and see how it can make a real difference to your everyday life.

We meet on the fourth Tuesday of the month in the back room of the library on the ground floor from 2.00pm – 4.00pm. For more information or to join, please see our u3a web page, or pop along to one of our meetings.
