Museum of Timekeeping

On Wednesday 5 August 2026 our group visited the Museum of Timekeeping housed in the picturesque and historic setting of Upton Hall. We were given a tour of the amazing collection of clocks, backed up with a well stocked library. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, we even got some free time to wander around on our own.

Altogether the collection houses about 10,000 clocks, watches and other timepieces, dating back to the historical ages that perfectly showcases the evolution of time over the centuries.

This superb resource, which is still growing, is a credit to Nottinghamshire and was established in 1994. A good time was had by all; we can certainly recommend a visit to other u3a members.
