Post of Vice Chair

Those who were at the AGM or who have read the minutes, will note that, although we have a good number of people standing for the committee this year, we have yet to fill the post of Vice Chair.

As the title suggests, the main role is to help the Chair with the running of the group and to be able to deputise at short notice, when needed. In addition, it is hoped that the Vice Chair would be a stepping stone to taking on the role of the Chair when I step down in 2028.

Although others can step in as necessary when I am absent and we can function without a Vice Chair for a short period of time, the u3a bcannot function without a Chair. Consequently, it’s important to fill the Vice Chair role as a possible successor for the future.

If any of you would like to consider this as something you’d like to do, or you know of others who you think might, please let me know. Good support can be given from the existing committee, advice and workshops are available from the Third Age Trust and networking opportunities with other local u3a groups.
