This month we studied the satellites of the biggest planet Jupiter, the presentation not only covered the four largest Galilean Moons, but also included the smaller moons, a lot of which perform retrograde orbits around the planet. The inner moons act as 'shepherds' maintaining the structure of the rings around Jupiter and just outside of these lies the big four Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto which are all very different and therefore generate a lot of scientific curiosity.
