Who is playing Pickleball?
You guessed it: the group that seems to have become regular players are baby boomers. The senior age group has been attracted to the sport because it is easy to play, very social and less stressful on muscles, tendons and joints.
The game offers a low-impact, social, and engaging way to stay active and maintain physical and mental health. The smaller court size, slower pace, and reduced need for intense running makes it accessible and enjoyable for seniors, while the social aspect helps combat loneliness and isolation.
The Southwell u3a Pickleball Group is a very friendly group and welcomes anyone who would like to come and see what is involved, whether or not you think it might be for you.
